One of the largest golf courses in Portugal built on 297 acres, with wide fairways and perfect greens to master your skills. The course was constructed in the late 1980’s by architects Cameron & Powell; opening to the public in 1993. This 27 hole course is the smaller of the two on the island of Sao Miguel, but deserves recognition as a very good golf course.The Batalha course has played host to many events including most recently the Azores Open. The course has a professional length of 6435m with a 72 par of the course, with a driving range and putting green on site for practice. The pro shop has clubs for rent if you decide, with a plethora of other golfing accessories if you desire to take a last minute round of golf at this picturesque course. The hours of operation depend on the season; from mid October to mid March hours of operation are 8am – 6pm daily while from March 15th – October 15th they are open from 8am – 8pm daily.
